Dr. Daniel Corallo

Dr. Daniel Corallo’s Story

Dr. Corallo was first attracted to chiropractic at a young age. Suffering from chronic migraines, Dr. Corallo continuously sought help from many health care practitioners. It was chiropractic care that helped his symptoms and ignited his interest in health care.  Playing provincial level soccer and competitive hockey for over 10 years, Dr. Corallo experienced many injuries and has had impactful exposure to clinical settings including chiropractic and rehabilitation clinics. This continuous exposure to chiropractic care strengthened his passion in the field. In pursuit of this passion, Dr. Corallo completed the Honours Kinesiology program at the University of Waterloo, and received his Doctor of Chiroprctic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2017. Additionally, Dr. Corallo completed his certification in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University in 2016.

Dr. Corallo is a chiropractor that combines a wellness approach with evidence-based care. His life experiences with chiropractic have demonstrated to him that being a good health care provider involves more than just treating a specific problem. Good health care practitioners provide holistic care such that they help guide their patients physically, psychologically, and socially, to a better quality of life. Dr. Corallo takes these principles and puts them into practice by helping others overcome the challenges of rehabilitation.

Outside of work, Dr. Corallo has developed a great passion for cooking, continues to stay active by playing soccer, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

FAQ

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

Chiropractic is a regulated health profession and is one of the largest groups of primary care practitioners in Ontario. It is an evidence-informed, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline. Chiropractors are able to diagnose, treat, and provide preventative care for disorders related to the neuromusculoskeletal system. To treat, chiropractors encompass non-invasive, drug-free, manual therapies by using their hands and/or other tools.
Chiropractors must have at least 3 years of undergraduate education, before entering a rigorous four-year doctorate program from an accredited institution. During these four years, chiropractors go through extensive training in the areas of human anatomy and biomechanics, nutrition, clinical diagnosis, immunopathology, physical assessment, and diagnostic imaging. After completion of the doctorate program, chiropractors must then complete a three-part licensing examination in Canada and be registered with their respective provincial regulatory authority in the province they intend to practice. These health care professionals have an abundant amount of knowledge and skills to help you through your rehabilitation and get you back to optimal health.

It must be noted that chiropractors are considered primary health care providers, which means there are no referrals required to access care.

WHAT IS SPINAL MANIPULATIVE THERAPY?

One of the most common therapies chiropractors use is spinal manipulative therapy (SMT). Chiropractors have specific training in SMT to provide highly skilled and specific adjustments to the vertebrae of the spine. This type of therapy helps in correcting joint motion to restore proper movement and improve function. In addition, SMT helps reduce muscle tonicity and promotes healing of the targeted joint.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Prior to your initial visit, you will be asked to fill out an intake form that will be emailed to you. On the initial visit, we will go over your intake form, health history, what your main complaint is, and goals you would like to work towards during your rehabilitation journey. We will then put you through a thorough clinical exam, come to a diagnosis, and formulate a personalized treatment plan specific to address all your health goals.
